Antonio Dionisio is a pioneer who has worked endless hours helping the Portuguese Community in  Canada. He is best known for his part in laying the foundation of the union revolution in Canada. Born April 3,1949, Mr. Dionisio immigrated to Canada on November 19, 1963. He and his wife, Helen, have one daughter, Nicole Pinto.

Antonio Dionisio has over 30 years of experience at negotiations and bargaining issues related to union matters with Local 183. He also has three decades of community service and fundraising under his belt.  His impressive resume includes working with LUSO Charitable Foundation and creating the Antonio Dionisio/Local 183 Scholarship Trust. The recipient of the Order of Merit – Portugal’s highest honour, he has also received the Queens Jubilee Medal from the Canadian government.

Mr. Dionisio is a recipient of  the ACAPO Community Award and was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Rt.  Honourable Jean Chretien.
