Manuel DaCosta was born in Castelo Do Neiva. Viana Do Castelo, on October 2, 1955. Immigrating to Canada on January 30, 1970, he attended Central Technical School and went on to York and Ryerson Universities, specializing in Architectural Technology. He kicked off his professional career early with Trow Engineering, soon moving on to start his own business; the same one he runs to this day. As president of Viana Roofing and Sheet Metal Ltd. he’s involved in a number of other business ventures

Manuel is the co-founder of the Gallery Museum of Portuguese Pioneers, the founder and builder of Camoes Square, located at 722 College Street, founder and president of Amigos do Castelo de Neiva de Toronto and the Chairman of Magellan Community Charities and the Portuguese Canadian Walk of Fame, which, thanks to him, we celebrate today.
