
José Maria Eustaquio is a distinguished Portuguese-Canadian known for his contributions to the cultural advancement of the Portuguese diaspora. Having spent years as a dedicated advocate of Portuguese heritage, he played a major role in promoting and preserving Portuguese culture in Canada.
Throughout his career at ACAPO, Jose Eustaquio has been known for leading the organization to become one of the premier promoter of Portuguese culture in Toronto. He has championed initiatives that support emerging artists, foster cultural exchange and celebrate Portuguese traditions. His efforts have helped elevate Portuguese-Canadians which have earned him the recognition and respect within the community.
ACAPO has been a major part of his philanthropic work, creating some of the highest moments in his life. Working at ACAPO has instilled deep pride in Portuguese culture and a sense of love and pride for the community. Jose’s continuous support and organization of the Portugal Day parade is a reflection of his passion, resilience and pride for his community. When mentioning ACAPO Mr. Eustaquia says: “ACAPO has been more than an organization. It has been more like family to me”.
In 2025, José Eustaquio’s impactful work and dedication to cultural enrichment earned him a well-deserved place in the Portuguese Canadian Walk of Fame.
